X-Men Forever 2 #9

While recuperating from the injuries she suffered from the Logan Clone, Kitty has a nightmare that he was never truly killed and had come back to kill her and anyone else in his way.

Startled by this Kitty heads back out in o the Alaskan wilderness to find his body to make sure only to find that it has disappeared, and has shown up in Japan.

Back at the X-Mansion, Scott and Daisy Dugan are playing a game of basketball when Scott suddenly realizes that he remembers Dr. Hanover from his time as a child at the orphanage and is wondering what she is doing in Alaska with his family.

Kitty commandeers a shuttle from the Starjammer and heads to Japan to find Logan only to stumble upon a meeting taking place, The Hand and Clan Yashida have agreed to absorb one another and become one.

I am sorry to say, but in my opinion, this has been the worst issue to date. I know alot of people liked this issue because Mike Grell was doing the artwork, but I don't like Mike Grell. I find his work to be too muddy, everything looked dirty and unpolished. Like he sketched out the drawings, gave it to the inker and walked away. I am surprised that someone let see press being this bad. A lot of his character designs were bad, everyone looked so bland, dull and lifeless. But he did have 2 good pages the ones where Rogue, Kurt and Mystique were talking and they introduced Mystiques new costume (which I really like!)

As for the writing, its decent. Nothing great. It felt to me that Claremont was just writing for the sake of advancing a story that isn't really work out as well as he hoped. Alot of dialogue was pointless and kinda dull. He's changing Kitty and I guess trying to find the voice for her but its not working. I hope he figures it out by next issue cause this was trash. We need the good writing we had for the last 4 issues.

If I gave out a star rating, this would be a 1 star comic. It was crap. I felt bad reading it cause it had been so good up to this issue. I think Grell's artwork ruined what could have been a really pivotal issue for Kitty, and I'll be glad when he is off the book.
